Katikati Centre Details
About Us
Elaine & Keith Garrett
We purchased the Katikati Kip McGrath Education Centre in July 2007 after extensive experience in the classroom. Elaine has 25 years experience as a Primary School teacher and has taught from New Entrants to Year 8 children ready to go to College. |
 |
Elaine is an experienced Reading Recovery teacher and as Deputy Principal of Ngatea Primary School, had responsibility for a range of curriculum and specialist programmes and the pastoral care of the school’s children
Keith is a 28 year secondary school veteran. His areas of interest are Maths and Science and he was Head of the Science Department at Hauraki Plains College for 15 years.
We see our combination of teaching experience and skills, along with those of our tutors, as an exceptional team for identifying and addressing the individual learning needs of a wide range of children.
After owning a home in Athenree for several years, we made the move in 2007 to live permanently in the Western Bay of Plenty. We both enjoy fishing, walking (exploring the local area) and gardening.
Our Education Team
We only employ fully trained and experienced teachers. Our tutors are carefully selected and then trained in the use of the resources and programmes available at our centre. We take pride in having an exceptional team that provides a positive and supportive learning environment which addresses the individual learning needs of each child. |
