About Us
Over the last 10 years the Hawera centre has been catering to the educational needs of students, successfully providing Maths and English tuition. Owned by Carike Van the centre has seen many students excel over the years, and has developed a reputation in the local area for providing excellent tuition.
Carike trained at the Massey University College of Education in Palmerston North and qualified with a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) in 2002. Her teaching experience is mainly in the primary sectors, having taught in rural and town schools. She is currently teaching part time as a principal release teacher as well as running the Hawera centre and tutoring after school hours. |

What We Do
Kip McGrath Education has an internationally trusted name in the field of private tutoring centres and supplementary education, with over 680 franchises in 20 countries.
At the Hawera centre we cater for all students from pre-schoolers through to NCEA. We provide tutorial assistance to children of all abilities. Some of our students are high achievers who attend the centre where we can provide extension work. Some students are having difficulty with their school work, and we provide the support, confidence and enthusiasm they need to learn.
As with all Kip McGrath programmes the learning programme is involves a variety of computer related tasks which is integrated with structured worksheets and textbooks.
FREE ASSESSMENT
We offer a free initial assessment where we can ascertain the level your child is working at and the difficulties they may be experiencing. From this assessment
we design an individual programme for your child which will ensure that they gain confidence and therefore progress to the best of their ability. We offer professional tuition in - Maths

- Reading

These lessons run for 80 minutes, during which students work on their individual programme. There will be a combination of computer work and bookwork all related to their needs. There is also homework that is used to reinforce what we are doing in class.
Possible class times are:
3.30pm – 4.50pm (Monday to Thursday)
5.00pm – 6.20pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
6.30pm – 7.50pm (Monday only or by demand)
